Pada tahun 1997, ia mendapatkan peran pertama melalui drama berjudul The Reason I Live. Kemudioan dilanjutkan dengan debut film If it Snows on Christmas (1998) dan Calla (1999).

Hanya dalam waktu singkat, ia mendapatkan peran utamanya. Ia pun semakin dikenal sejak membintangi drama Glass Slippers (2002).

Drama ini bahkan tak hanya populer di Korea, namun China, Hongkong, Taiwan, dan Vietnam.

The series was a hit, earning high ratings throughout its runtime. It was also quite popular in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Vietnam.

Setahun berikutnya, ia membintangi drama Star Runner (2003). Dilanjutkan dengan drama Toji, The Land (2004) dan Marrying a Millionaire (2005).

Sayangnya, sejak itu, ia memilih untuk vakum dan mengalami permasalahan karakter. Ia tidak senang dengan karakter yang ia perankan.

Pada tahun 2011, ia kembali dengan drama Twinkle Twinkle. Lalu ia membintangi What Happens to My Family? (2014) dan I Have a Lover (2015).

Empat tahun kemudian, ia berperan dalam drama Watcher (2019). Pada tahun 2021, ia didapuk menjadi pemeran dalam drama Netflix Hellbound.

Kembalinya ke layar lebar ditandai dengan film Jung-E (2022). Sebelum ia menjadi pemeran utama dalam Trolley.
